Teacher Appreciation Week

May 1-5, 2023*

Looking for some ways to say "thank you" to our amazing teachers, staff and administrators?

Read on for a few fun suggestions--and feel free to post YOUR great ideas

on Facebook @HuffakerHawks or Instagram @HuffakerPTA!

*While National Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated May 8-12, 2023,

Huffaker PTA will be honoring our teachers and staff the previous week due to the 5th grade end-of-year trip

#1 Write a thank you note

Sometimes, the simplest act is also the most meaningful. Ask your child to write a thank you card or draw a picture for their teacher.

You can send it to school directly or take a photo and email it. Click here for a list of Huffaker teacher, staff and administrator email addresses.

#2 Gift an item from their Amazon Wish List

Click on each teacher's name to visit their Wish List page. Easily purchase requested items and ship them directly to the recipient. Don't forget to include a gift receipt/note so they know who sent it!

#3 Say "lunch is on us"

Treat your teacher to lunch from their favorite restaurant by sending them an e-gift card to a food delivery service like Grubhub or DoorDash.

Or, consider a gift card for a coffee shop, retail store or pampering service. The options are endless, and most can be purchased online and emailed directly to the recipient.

#4 Give the gift of time

One way that Huffaker PTA is celebrating our teachers and staff is by taking over various duties (e.g. staffing drop-off, lunch, recess and pick-up) on Wednesday, May 3rd.

Sign up for one (or more!) 15-minute slot(s) and give teachers the gift of extra time in their day.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE A VOLUNTEER FORM ON FILE WITH THE FRONT OFFICE AND BE APPROVED THROUGH WCSD. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCESS, PLEASE EMAIL PTAHUFFAKER@GMAIL.COM.
